Wouldn't be a bad thing to try.

Players-wise, we are chock full of unimpressive kids, journeymen and knackered has-beens.

Coaching-wise, the less said the better. We can all see how disorganised and unmotived we are. It's painful to watch.

Somehow or other, we need a clear-out of epic proportions.

I know this is going back a long while. But for decades Wigan had at least 8 GB players. Many who were 'World Class' and world beaters. I don't think I need to add anything ?

I thought there was bags of effort last night. We just have too many players who are simply not good enough, even if we’re at full strength. Even Craig Bellamy would struggle with this squad.

The key difference yesterday was we didn’t have a hooker and only had a scrum half once Sammut came on.

Shorrocks missed a load of tackles, some of them key tackles that led to tries. Shorrocks needs to up the ante, he seems to saunter through games without a care in the world.

Looking back at the game our forwards didn’t lay a platform because they were let down by Clubb with his minutes and the injury to Greenwood.

If we went into that game with 2 decent props instead of Clubb and Partington, any one of Manfredi/Marshall/Davies instead of Hankinson, Leuluai at 9 with Sammut starting wed have won.

No, he just has a different opinion to you, that's all. Plenty of effort yesterday. Three or four high quality signings and we'll be reet.

You say that like we have a proven track record at the moment of signing such a level of player. The leadership at the club have showed they don’t want to fund or pursue a high calibre of signing.

Agreed, we’re not a million miles off. Not where we should be, but there’s signs. Going to toe to toe with a team who are allegedly a class above the rest on two occasions is OK.

I’ve consigned myself to a very bog standard this season and hope to be challenging again next year. I’d take a bad year this year and our last ten years rather than that of Warrington or Saints.

It was a horror show from Shorrocks in defence. I read somebody comment last night that they felt he’d done pretty well and I raised my eyebrows. He was our weak link without any question imo and after being unlucky in my book to lose his halfback spot for the cup game, he certainly won’t be keeping hold of the 9 shirt.

Since his return from injury he’s not impressed me, we seem to be creating half backs that aren’t creative, not cheeky enough and are willing to just go through the motions hoping ‘the move’ works.
