The key difference yesterday was we didn’t have a hooker and only had a scrum half once Sammut came on.

Shorrocks missed a load of tackles, some of them key tackles that led to tries. Shorrocks needs to up the ante, he seems to saunter through games without a care in the world.

Looking back at the game our forwards didn’t lay a platform because they were let down by Clubb with his minutes and the injury to Greenwood.

If we went into that game with 2 decent props instead of Clubb and Partington, any one of Manfredi/Marshall/Davies instead of Hankinson, Leuluai at 9 with Sammut starting wed have won.

Bringing in two quality props would make a world of difference to this team. If we could bring in a proper 9 too it'd be a different side.

Currently we get smashed up the middle every game. You can't win when you're constantly on the back foot.

Defo. What I wouldn’t give for Melbournes Jesse Bromwich and Nelson Asafa-Solomona. If I won the lottery I’d pay for them two myself.

And we would still need to fit them under the salary cap

They’d both be marquee signings counting at £175,000 each on the cap.

Just put their wife’s on the club shop payroll. Works for a few other clubs

Ok. Now go and fit the other 28 players in.

Cap only counts the first 25 players, so only 23 players to go!

Well you'd sack off two of the biggest earners in Williams and O'Loughlin so that gives you breathing room.

We need to rely on our Academy more for squad depth, and letting them leave if they're not superstars. Otherwise you get stuck like we currently are - paying a lot of average players just because they're Wigan Academy graduates.

it's almost 2006 again, we had an offloading Sculthorpe and got a proper prop in Fielden, so now we need a proper 6, 7, 9,10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17
