Re: Team for HKR : Fri May 31, 2019 3:50 pm
I initially made the point that I believe he could grit his teeth a bit more and attempt to play through the pain barrier and I fully stand by that. I’m pretty confident in the incidents at the Nou Camp and then Anfield that Chris Brooke’s hasn’t been running on and saying “sorry Joe you’ve got to come off” whilst Greenwood begs him to stay on.

It’s an observation and one I don’t think is unfair tbh and it’s one I’ve made on him before he came to the club. If he had a bit more steel and aggression he’d be one of the best back rowers in World Rugby League IMO. It’s probably a good thing he hasn’t because in that case he wouldn’t be at Wigan.

I get that Itchy but I can’t for second believe he’s telling lies to the medical staff to get himself taken off.
2 x concussion injuries are out of his control, the way his knee bent looked serious at the time and to be honest, I thought it was season over. Then the whack to the ribs was a very hard collision and the medical team suspected he’s broken his ribs. I wouldn’t expect anybody to play on in any of those circumstances.

I think it is the number of times that he fails to complete a game that drives people's suspicions.
He hasn't made as many breaks as last year and if Faz is fit personally I would put Faz on the left with Greenwood on the bench.

Greenwood was looking good when we was winning at Cas before he hot sparked and that left edge won us the game at Salford week before since well we have been putting square pegs in round holes. Had a history with concussion in NRL. He's not been as effective as he was in our run in last year but who has? The teams played busted without any run with the same players. With most coming back for HKR with exception of our wings we may see a bit more from the team I hope. Though have to admit I won't be betting on us for a while!

I was right by the tunnel as he came off he looked shocking and if anything I’m amazed he’s even being thought of for the KR game.

Sorry but that does not fit the opinions on here!

Seriously I would rest Greenwood for this game - he has had recent issues with concussion, ribs and a knee issue - with Faz back it is the ideal opportunity to give him a break to recuperate properly (which is I think part of the problem). Let him get back to full fitness in recent games he has had to do more work due to our ineffective props.

Not a chance he's getting rested. Quite simply these next few games are huge for the club & even bigger for Lam. If we win them all, then we're in the top 5 and there'll be a whole different feel around the club and potentially Lam's future too.

We're out of the cup, so he'll get his rest weeks then. That goes for guys like Lockers and TL too.

Fully agree. We simply need to win some more matches (away from home won't be easy). Rest can be taken this weekend and CC Semi Final weekend. I'm not even thinking about Top 5. To be honest I think that's gone.....secure mid table, season over, get rid of some dead-wood, get some signings in and sort out the head coach position one way or another.

Then start again next January.
