We all will! I seriously wouldn't put it past Wigan to win it again, it's in their DNA.

Burgess and Gildart.....other than that I’m struggling to disagree.

Farrell O’Loughlin would certainly get in, Williams is better than Fages as well

No one can write Wigan off because they know how to win the games that matter.

I'm sure the RFL & sky would love it if Wigan did damage in the play offs.

It’s not about form though, it’s about who’s the better player (by a distance) over a long period of time when it comes to saying who’d get in each other’s sides. Had Burgess, Gildart, Williams, Farrell, Lockers etc been coached by Holbrook in a side as dominant as Saints have been then clearly their form would be better.

Williams vs Fages is probably the ideal case in point. Yes his form hasn’t been great, yes you could probably say Fages has had a better season then him in relative terms (to their ability) but had Williams been playing on the back of Thompson, Roby and Walmsley all season then it would’ve been carnage, total and utter carnage in comparison to what the ‘solid’ Fages brings.

Burgess from a few years ago definitely but these days his lack of pace is pretty stark.
Gildart and Faz for me but after that nobody apart from maybe TL on the bench.
Pretty sobering

I think Burgess still has more to offer than Grace who I don’t really rate too highly.

Good going forward...that’s it.

LMS is playing better than Locky, sad to say as I’m Locky’s biggest fan but age has caught up with him.

Again I’m not slating Farrell but I don’t think he has hit the heights since he lost his England shirt. Good player but again at the moment i’d go with both Saints lads over him.

Tough to say as I love both players and detest Saints but at the moment they are light years ahead in nearly every department.

I am also a little shocked at how underrated Fages is. Much more consistent than Williams. When he is on I don’t doubt Williams is superior but sadly those “on” days are few and far between.

Farrell is a better second rower then anything Saints have. He’s been superb since he’s been back and would be immense in that Saints side.

LMS isn’t playing loose forward anyway and again Lockers has shown just how good he still is in some big games recently. I rate Morgan Knowles tbh but give me a focused Lockers any day.

Williams has 10 try’s and 12 assists to Fages 4 trys and 15 assists this season. He also has over a thousand more metres and about 50 more tackle busts. That’s on average form in a poor team, not in career best form in a team flying and playing behind the best front row (by more then a million miles) in superleague.

Saints are as good as they are because of the coach and the way he has the collective playing but it doesn’t make every player better then his opposite number in a struggling team.
