No, you cant mess about with untried players at half back at this point and you cant move Tommy from 7 because his defence on the right is too important at this stage. Just bring somebody in to replace Powell.

French isn’t a half back for me,if Shorrocks is fit then play him at hooker, just don’t know how you juggle the pack really

Maybe if French and Williams are given a full weeks training it will be different, you cant expect 2 players that aren't used to playing together to suddenly become a world class partnership

Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t expecting a world class partnership but I think we can all agree we needed better. At this stage of the season is it really wise to start messing around putting a player in at HB who hasn’t played there for years? I’d say not. Similarly I wouldn’t put French at FB instead of Zak. It’s an interesting and divisive issue on where to play French.

I like the lad, he’s got speed to burn in an open field but a small part of me does wonder the sense in signing him. That’s not to say he should go or in anyway saying he shouldn’t have been signed btw.

It’s boring but I’d go Lockers and have him, Smithies and Partington in the same starting pack. Along with Isa and Farrell (shocking miss on Hastings aside) your solid as a rock in defence and in play off games you need to be that. We can’t afford to be loose against Saints because they’ll play the game at a faster pace than Salford did and I felt we were hanging on at times last night.
