I seriously give up. Sportsmen and women wind up the opposition. Calling for an end to “head rubbing” whilst simultaneously wanting the game to “toughen up” is astoundingly hypocritical and completely against the spirit of sport.

Improvement is needed in discipline (less penalties) and last tackle plays. Thats what had us on the back foot for so long. Did we ever manage to put the ball in the in goal on the 5th? Some shocking last tackle options considering Williams has one of the best short kicking games in SL.

Lets also give Salford credit, they were very good and wouldnt lie down.

It will be interesting to see if the week off helped Saints or if they are off the pace.

I would like to replace Burgess with French but i dont think we can risk it against Saints. They would pepper him with bombs towards Makinson who is very good in the air. Lam must get Burgess to stay on his wing in defence and stop coming in. He looks the only weak link in our defence.

I would have French on the bench and bring him on at fullback with Zak going to right centre if we are behind after 60 minutes and tell him to run at them and test them.

Hooker will have to be one of the young guys as we cant move Tommy or Williams since they are key to organising our defence out wide.

I’m assuming that you’ve never played the game. You do whatever you can to wind up your opponent, to put him off his game and to get under his skin. Yes you can come a cropper occasionally but that tends to come from the player your trying to wind up, not the ref. It’s part of the game and shouldn’t be phased out. We will be banning the celebrating when a knock on occurs from a big hit next.

We should have taken a drop goal at 18-6. We took four drives under the post, I was sure we were setting up for it. At that point we badly needed Sam Powell on the pitch.
