I wonder what class of act could be enticed to play in Wigan. It has been a long time since a world class act played here without being from Wigan, possibly The Grateful Dead in 1972 but that was in Bickershaw.

Green Day played at the social club on Worsley Mesnes back in the day (I think)

I was there, not much choice really as I lived there unbelievable weekend that was. Hawkwind, Donovan, the kinks and.....Pemberton brass band

I was in a push chair so I have no recollection but the Dead CD is amazing. But who would have thought that Wigan would recreate Woodstock?
