Split Ticketing / Rail tickets

Just a heads up for supporters that travel from further afield using trains and haven't heard of or used these rail ticket sites . There are huge savings to be had using these sites / app's .

Me and the Lad are down from Edinburgh this weekend and I am paying £14 return (senior railcard) and Ross is £22 return that's a saving of about 60%.

We were down for the first 2 games (Thursday's) and the weekday savings are roughly the same . Doesn't always work but does generally. I have saved a fair few quid so far .

Hope this helps. The more money saved the more for ale lol .

Regards EW

Thanks EW.
I'd heard of split ticketing but didn't know there was a special site.
Thanks.

My son came up to Wigan last weekend from London and he was telling me about this. I'll remember it next time i do a trip.

The golden rule is that the train you are on must stop at that stop. You can't have a Wigan to Crewe ticket then Crewe to London if the train is direct.

There is also an app for iPhone called "Train Split" that does it.

I'm not sure if it's the same as the old "Tickety Split" app, but it looks similar.
