It isn’t surprising really given he’s probably being paid good money to sulk in the reserves. The lad has all the talent in the world but sadly not the heart or bottle to go with it. This was rumoured in the off season and I guess the club would rather have got one or two others out the door before him with it being Leeds involved. It’s only the fact we’ve let him go to Leeds that doesn’t sit right.

Agreed. He will probably come back much worse

I’d happily let him go for a fee. For all the talent he has he goes off injured most games, the way he goes down you’d think he’d be out for the rest of the season and then he plays the next game. I think he’s soft, wouldn’t mi

Good move.

Hopefully for him and us.

Worst comes to the worse we don’t pay his wages for a couple of months.

Hopefully though he either finds a bit of confidence and comes back the player we thought we had brought to the club or he does enough to convince Leeds to take him off our hands.

For me he just doesn’t fit the Wigan “way” lacks the mental toughness and i’d hope he does convince Leeds to take him off our hands.

Hopefully this "test drive" doesn't convince Leeds that he's got no bottle.

He never looked like a Wigan player during his Saints days(we used to knock lumps off him), so it was a strange one when we signed him. It worked short term, when he had Wane coaching him but it’s all unravelled. His head knocks haven’t helped but it was the injuries after that, where he’d look like he’d ruptured his ACL or dislocated his shoulder, only to find out it was a slight bang that were the biggest concern.

To think he was signed as John Batemans replacement!

Backs up my thoughts on him, not willing to scrap and fight for his place in the reserves, he’s soft. His attitude in the last reserve game was appalling

Couple of questions I have though.

Can he play against us? I’m guessing yes

Is there a recall (in case of injury crisis ) ? I’m guessing no

Jack Wells ahead of him in the pecking order.

Sick of these Loan deals, we need to get him, Escare and Naverette off our cap. But nobody will do business.

Greenwood was playing well for Saints at the time and on the strength of that form was signed by a Aussie club and I also seemed to recall that when Wigan signed him, supporters were saying he was a great signing for us.

Like Warrington who have seen something in some players we have cast off, Leeds must see something in him or they would not have even considered signing him, even on loan.

From what I can see the lad is lacking confidence not only as a result of the head injuries, but with many of the negative and in some cases personal comments being made by some supporters.

The same is happening with Joe Burgess. Instead of supporting the lad who has lost a bit of form and again could be lacking confidence, some supporters go into overdrive of calling him, especially now that Manfredi has come back on then scene.

I liked Greenwood, I thought he outshone Faz for a while when he first came. He ran decent lines and was reliable in defence and attack. Multiple head injuries and others are bound to knock a lads confidence so I’m a bit disheartened when I see so many calling for his head, similar to what’s happening to J Burgess now.

Ultimately and rather sadly he wouldn’t have played for Wigan again save for an injury to Faz and/or Isa. Personally I’d have had him starting with Faz and Isa on the bench but that’s irrelevant now.

I hope he does well at Leeds and shows the doubters what he is capable of. He was a class signing when we brought him in and some are quick to forget that.
