Crazy to think that over that time wigan house prices have shot up by 27p. The ratio of meat to potato has fallen dramatically too. You have gone from being owning your own property to being a lodger at the local football ground. The only good thing about your town shut its doors years ago.

So yeah pot has changed in those 65 years

Ah yes, but 27p in 1955 is the equivalent of £26.41 now so our house prices have increased by the value of two whole houses in Warrington. In fact, didn't someone buy the whole of Orford for a fiver?
