2004 has to be right up there with the best of all time. And that brawl was fantastic, Stevo’s commentary makes it. Shame that isn’t being repeated tomorrow but the 2003 derby was fantastic too.

Definitely. Watched the full game today. Stevo’s commentary is phenomenal. The first 10 minutes of the game was incredible as well. The battles all over the pitch made it a classic - Farrell v Scully, Newton v Cunningham, Dallas v Albert, Radlinski and Wellens. One big thing I noticed is how Kirkpatrick really let the game flow - loads of the tackles would now be considered high (rightly or wrongly) and probably 3 or 4 sin bins in the first 5 mins. The fight alone there would be at least 5 red cards but one sin bin each and the game went on.

The 8 in a row 2010 to 2017 were all great.

I agree there, these days that brawl would have seen it down to 10 v 10! He reffed the game spot on throughout IIRC which added to the spectacle. I know I’m not one to harp back to the past but if refs could let games flow now as in this game we would have a better spectacle each week.

The names mentioned for the 1 on 1 battles are just sheer quality. Everything about that game was phenomenal. I was a teenager back then and went the game with my mates stood up on the terraces and it was probably one of the best games I’ve been to. You just couldn’t recreate those types of atmospheres if we tried

You’ve got us there pal, Regan Grace scoring a hatrick against anyone is as embarrassing as it gets.
