LGBTQ+ and BLM are not social trends. They are a product of society's (mainly unconscious) prejudice. As someone who falls within the LGBTQ+ demographic I'm proud of what the club is trying to do, and was looking forward to being visible for who I am for the first time at a rugby game at the postponed Catalans match. It is people's choice what they do with their money, but to withhold money because you are disgusted at the club's stance on "social trends" is ignoring the values of this great club, and reinforcing society's inbuilt prejudice.

Dont forget, he said every time i post before the next Wigan game so its not limited to this thread.

The question is, will he honour his wise guy pledge?

It will be costly but it's well worth it.

It has nothing to do with any kind of axe to grind with IL. It has everything to do with the club jumping on bandwagons and using its position to push matters and politically motivated organisations that have nothing to do with RL. If thats what the club believes in fine, but i wont be spending any of my hard earned to support a club that does so, ask the organisations they are pushing for financial help, they have plenty of money. You only need to read the Wigan social media pages to see that there are a lot of people that are unhappy with what the club did, unless they have deleted the posts that is.

Are you seriously saying you're going to deny the club any of your 'hard-earned' until they start thinking the way you do?

Is that a genuine position or an excuse for not going to games?

(Neither makes you look good, by the way).

I'm curious about this too, and curious as to how "treat everyone equally" is a political movement. I thought it was just a generally decent thing to do.

You could have been whatever you wanted at any of the games anyway. You didn't need a special day for this - attend the game and with your partner or whoever else you want. Not 100% sure what rule said you can't?

If you seriously think that anyone is watching you instead of the game then you're deluded. I'm there for a game of rugby not some social protest showoff.

In that case you dont need a special day for fathers day so i guess we shouldnt go to those games as we dont need it rammed down our throats. you also dont need an armed forces day, st georges day, st patricks day, mothers day, all of these have been done in the past by the club without anyone bothering. Why bother now about this one?

Also, if youre just there for a game of rugby, then... just watch the game?

No problem with them whatsoever, have you? I have no idea what ones sexuality has to do with a rugby league club though.

Maybe we have some gay fans, players, coaches, admin staff. Do you complain when your place of work supports LGBTQ+ causes?

Mate, you have been able to come to the game as whatever you like, The vast majority of people do not care about your sexuality, you are free to be whoever you like. People want to watch rugby league at games, not be given a lecture on social issues. It has naff all to do with rugby league just as a movement to abolish the Police and bring down western values doesnt. On saying that, the club is also free to support whatever causes they like, just as i have a right to voice my opinion and choose to spend my money as i think appropriate.

As already stated, no one wants to abolish the police, and what are the western values you think are being brought down exactly? Or is that just a random buzzphrase?
