Daryl Powell : Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:29 pm
Did you see the Sky pundits discussing Powell's future at Cas before the match tonight? Don't know what you think but it sounded to me as if they kind of knew he wasn't going to be there next season.

And NO... I don't want him here..

Was hoping to see them lose again just to see the pained expressions on his wife beater face

Where do you think he would go....Hull as he's already been at Leeds although he might do a job at Warrington

I think he needs a season out of the game just to try and get some enjoyment back in his life. He looks down in the dumps being involved in the game at the minute and his mind seems muggled with who is to blame for his sides poor form.

Ever since 2017, he’s looked like a man who cannot understand why his teams aren’t blitzing sides by 40 or 50 points each week. That season was a freak, a one off along the lines of Leicester City winning the premier league. They got momentum and they had teams beat before kick off most weeks. They built that year around two men though (Hardaker and Gale) and both have moved on. I think the time has come for Powell to follow them.

My thoughts too.

Powell always comes over as looking for someone else to blame, and if that's an actual mindset - which I suspect it is after so long, rather than a pose - then he's never going to learn from his mistakes, which may indicate why, as a coach, he's never won very much.

Powell just doesn’t seem capable of taking responsibility. It’s a constant blame game, he irritates the life out of me.
