During this depressing lockdown in was looking at Bilko's stats page looking at record victories, losses Crowds, Managers biggest winning runs and losses most tries in a game and goals kicked but could not help but notice Wigan RL do not hold the record for the most points i a a bgame. Apparently Huddersfield beat Blackpool Gladiaters 146-6 in 1994 I when Know that Wigan beat Flimby in 1928 about 128 points to nil when it was 3 points for a try but the record books are written to the truth! You would think that Wigan had a Brilliant team they would have beating sides by 100-150 points a game but i think 92-2 v Runcord 1989ish was the record!
Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.
You are correct. Went to that game, knew then he was going to be something special.
Put 'Sam Tomkins debut' in YouTube search.
I remember watching an u18s academy game with Brian Foley. I asked him whether he thought Tomkins or Coyle was better (a reasonable question at the time as Coyle was getting in ahead of him, but I couldn't understand why as Tomkins looked so good). He said they have different skills, then went through every key skill for a halfback one by one and judged Tomkins was better at each.

We beat Flimby & Fothergill 116-0 with Jim Sullivan scoring 22 goals in that match (44 points) leaving 72 points so 24 tries, add on the 24 and you would have 140-0. However that score was not an RL record when it happened as Huddersfield already held the record having beaten junior (amateur) club Swinton Park 119-2 in the Challenge Cup a few years earlier. Huddersfield surpassed their record with their win over Blackpool (the score was 142-4), a few days later Barrow beat Nottingham City 138-0 narrowly missing out on the record. York have since broken the record by beating West Wales Raiders 144-0 in League 1 in 2018.
wasnt that Sams debut? scored 5 tries in the first half and was subbed? could be wrong
Not quite right, he did score five tries though. I'd watched him come through the academy and when he broke through for I think it was his last try I turned around to two ladies who travel over from Harrogate for every game game and said "Big left foot step and under the sticks" I'd seen it so many times before, an unbelievable talent and the best fullback I've seen whilst watching Wigan.
Also even though Offiah scored 10 tries in a game and Edwards 10 tries in a game that was a brilliant performace by one player but a Hull KR player in the early 1900's scored 11 tries in a game!

George West against Brookland Rovers, he also kicked 10 goals in the game and held the record for points in a game by a single player (53). His points record was surpassed by Chris Thorman when he scored 56 for York in a 136-0 win against Northumbria University.
