We have all expected Gildart to try the NRL provided he got an offer. I always thought Bibby was signed as a replacement for Oli and am still of that view. Perhaps he might have left us end of last year had Covid not disrupted everything.
He does seem to have bad luck with injuries but I do hope they abate and we can see the best of him before he leaves us.

After getting Watch NRL this year and having more time to watch the NRL I’m of the opinion there’s a lot of bang average players in the NRL. It’s not this mythical land of giants some make it out to be.

Curtis Scott, Moses Mbye etc all get starts at centre in the NRL and are awful.

Gildart was class against NZ for England and embarrassed Jake Bird in WCC. He’ll be fine in NRL.

Most top SL players could compete well in the NRL IMO. Thompson is comfortably the bulldogs best forward. There’s some terrible hookers there too so Daryl Clark will rip it up if he goes there.

Crazy Gildart is still only 24! I’ve said it before on here but we should be all over Jake Wardle as a replacement.

Absolutely bang on.

There are more good players in the NRL than here but there are plenty of average ones as well. We need to have more faith and confidence in our lads sometimes. Yes there are plenty that wouldn’t make it but when I see these ‘5 players who could play in the NRL’ pieces, it makes me cringe. We’ve seen reasonable superleague players make names for themselves in the NRL, so I could name dozens who could go and hold down a place and thrive in that comp. IMO Gildart would be one of them. He played opposite a centre I’ve seen lauded as a superstar in that NZ series in Joseph Manu and at worst he held his own and probably outplayed him.
