Well Miski v King and Byrne is pretty much an easy win for the Lebanon.

A long way from Wigan

Re: Wigan World Cup Representatives : Mon Oct 24, 2022 6:47 am
Really poor performance from Ireland -one of the most ill disciplined performances I've seen in a long time both in defence and attack.

Their coach obviously had wound them up far too much ahead of the game and they threw it away.

Worst game I've ever seen from Liam - never seen him play like that before but he was really stupid and will get a deserved ban. It says something when Bentley looked relatively calm through the game........

King needs to learn where and when to use an offload - there's potential there but he needs to be a lot smarter in decision making.

Ireland could have made that a really close game but threw it away.

Regarding England's selection:

It showed why having Mickey M as starting 9 is the correct choice. Ackers is great going forward but needs a bit more experience at this level. I'd play him against Greece, but doubt he'll get a starting or even bench spot against the bigger teams.

Can't understand why Batchelor hasn't played yet, I thought he was one of Saints best players (after Lomax and Pasi). He plays with 100% pretty much every minute of the game. Should be a starter in the big games. I think apart from Batchelor, coming in it should be the same team in th ebig games as we played v Samoa.

Two matches for Byrne, bit lucky with that IMO, the dangerous contact one looked nasty and totally avoidable

I would have liked to see how he went against the Kiwi pack but agreed very fortunate to not get more.

From the group games I think King looks short of a yard of pace which is concerning.

Bateman KPP and Cooper hard to say yesterday against Greece. All went ok but who wouldn’t against that standard of opposition. KPP missing the tackle for the try will not have gone down well.

Looking forward to watching Miski again today.

Really entertaining player and wasted as a back up winger. Should definitely be playing SL with someone.

They targeted Miski with the high balls missed two of them he scored 2 tries.Missed his winger for the Jamacian try like John said i would be very surprised if he is still at Wigan next year.Biggest cheer of the day when Jamaica scored Lebanon will be a very hard side to beat.

If England, Australia and New Zealand get to the semis, do we know who faces who? Has the format been set out?

We would play the winners of Tonga v Samoa.

Australia and NZ would play each other. That’s why it was vital we won the group to give us an easier (supposedly) route to the Final.
