Agreed. The Rooney one is just being "bigged up" because it was scored by Rooney. Like I said, Personally, I think Amr Zaki's for Wigan against us was better.

TBH the Rooney is goal going to be lauded not just because it was him who scored it but the situation. The rivalry is huge between the two clubs and now Man City can spend what they need to eventually overhaul Man Utd. Scoring a goal like that in not only a derby match but a game against another of the big, big clubs in the league live on TV and it being the winner means surely even the most bitter of people can understand the reaction to it?

If I remember correctly he was moving away from goal when he hit it aswell

It was a beautiful goal. Overhead kicks nearly always are beautiful, because most of us have nearly crippled ourselves trying it and can recognize just how hard it is to get right. Just meeting that ball at the height it was is difficult. Getting it so it nestles in the top corner is pretty much totally down to luck.

I don't begrudge Rooney and MU getting the hype over it. Because I know if/when a Chelsea player scores a beauty you feel that much more for the goal than if it was a neutral team. And winners over your hated rivals add even more.

Anyone trying to belittle Rooney's goal yesterday is a complete and utter n0b . It was a tremendous piece of skill and worthy of winning any game. If he did shin it then it just goes to how good he is to get that much power behind it. I've shinned a fair few in my time and believe me they don't fly in the top corner like that!

FWIW, as a few have posted, I'd put Sinclair's as the best I think I've ever seen. Unbelievable piece of skill & technique from someone who was, TBF, a distinctly average player. I also love the scissor-kick Sparky scored for Wales in 85 against Spain, about as sweet a hit as you'll ever see.

Oh and as for Summerbee........ bitter, senile old git
