Our D has been amazing for the first 3 games. They have put us in a position to win them all and we should have at least 2. Our problem has been inaccurate throws and dropped passes.
Put it this way anyway. We have held Geno, Brees and Brady to 256, 322 & 225 respectively.
We held Powell and Ivory to 44 rushing yards between them in game 1, Thomas, Sproles and Ingram to 75 yards in game 2 and Blount and Ridley to 100 yards on Sunday.
We should have been 2-0. We were in a position to be 20-7 up against the Pats on Sunday but blew all the possession we had 1st half and went in trailing at HT. NE is a tough place to win anyway, never mind when you drop 2 passes in the end zone and miss a 40 yard field goal.
I'm not on Schiano's back either. He is a young pro coach who has made sure we fight til the end in every game. There have been no "white flag" games like we had under Raheem. I like the tough D he has built, regardless of the penalties. David, Clayborn and McCoy have all been beasts this year. Our secondary is the best I have seen in a long time at Tampa too. It is very reminiscent of the SB winning D. McCoy is starting to look like the player we were hoping to get. Clayborn is establishing himself as one of the better defensive ends in the league. Lavonte David really reminds me of John Lynch. His speed and the way he hits are immense! Revis, Goldson, Barron are all near the top of their position too.
This D is the best since 2002. All we need is an offence competent enough to score 3 TD's a game and we will be competitive.
I'm not even mad that we're 0 and 3. That D has made all 3 games enjoyable to watch.
