Just read on the BBC that current Germany 1st choice keeper Robert Enke has died
Apparently a possible suicide, but no confirmation at this stage.

All the news reports in Germany are suggesting suicide too, and that he had been in an 'unstable condition' for a while...

Correct, and I think I'm right in saying that they adopted quite recently.
Enke has always been one of my favourite footballers, honest, humourous and a great character on the field.
Will be sadly missed.

Shocking news. I actually met him years ago when I was at trials in my youth. I was living at the time on an Army base in Germany and went to a trials day at a local lower division teams youth team. I met him and a few other players. Monchengladbach he was playing for at the time I believe. I've got a boot bag with his signature on it somewhere.

Tragic new. Don't know much about him but one can only imagine the trauma that he, and now his family, were going through.
