Cole on Hernandez has to be a penalty doesn't it? He sees enough to book him but doesn't give a penalty. Horrible tackle from a horrible person. If anyone ever needed a right good kicking it's Cole.

It's not a pen because the ball was already in the stands when contact was made.

If that was Ferdinand on Drogba then Ferdinand would be getting praised for putting himself in when a goal was looking likely.

Man United get two goals scored from offside positions, they get a nonsense free kick for the first and they are still badly done to by refs.

I did read that the ref said it couldn't be a pen because the ball had gone out of play. But that would surely mean it was even more of a red card offence if the ball wasn't even in play. I guess I might have to steel myself for watching the 2nd half to see the rest of the incidents.

What immunity? That two game ban for swearing. Cole can shoot people and almsot end a players season. Just another season the FA and referees association doing all they can to help Chelsea.

How can a goal be looking likely when the ball was in the stands?

Agreed.

As a red, no complaints at all with either of the red cards. You simply can't do that and expect to get away with it.

FFS. When Cole launched himself the ball wasn't in the stands. The ball was rolling to Hernandez, who was shaping to shoot, so Cole launched himself to block the shot. Hernandez smashed the ball wide and Cole caught him when the ball was already out of play.

Anywhere else on the pitch and it would have been a red. But when a goal is at stake it's different. When Terry was kicked in the head in the Carling Cup final no one said that because he'd been booted in the face that was dangerous play and the Arsenal player should have been carded.
