You're working with hindsight there mate, assumption was probably Norwich would win that 3 or 4 nothing. The Macc/Wigan game being left off the TV was completely unjustifiable, especially when the alternatives that WERE broadcast were Stoke v Man City and rather ridiculously Man Utd at home to Fulham, a fixture SKY wouldn't even bother with, but ESPN don't do games that don't involve Utd, Citeh, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool. It really is total BS, as soon as the 3rd round comes along the TV companies have a w*nk-off to see who gets to show the big guns.

Fully agree mate. That's why I always cringe when PL sides draw each other in the cup because you know that they will be the games that get picked, regardless of whether other ties might have a surprise upset in them.

But you know that after what happened with Luton, if they draw a PL side, that will be on TV because they think another upset could be on the cards, yet Luton will probably get dicked 5-0 or 6-0 (well, unless they draw Liverpool! )

Funny you mention Man Utd v Fulham, just seen an advert for it on ESPN just before. It's on next Saturday. As Mirror Football said on Twitter: "ESPN trailing Fulham vs Man United like it's El Classico. Do they think we've forgotten what we saw on ESPN yesterday?"

I was surprised Macc Vs Wigan wasn't TV. I went to the game, and believe, you'll be glad it wasn't. Probably one of the worst games of football I've seen in a few years. There was a great atmosphere but it wasn't matched by the players on the field.

Up until around the time Gullit came we were always liable to get knocked out of the cups by sides like Brentford. But after that time we've been pretty much immune (the away to Barnsley under Grant being the only slip).

Today was one of those when we were really pushing it close.

Craig Burley. Hate the guy. He hates Chelsea. He's been massively bitter since he didn't play in an FA Cup Final and we shipped him out. But trying to get a red card out of a keeper handling a back pass????? WAFC.

No problem with the Brentford pen. We wouldn't have got it though. If that was at the other end he'd have been getting a yellow card for diving. We did get lucky with Turnbull not being booked when he did handle the back pass, as I think he should have been, because he'd have picked up a second yellow and been off.

Ivanovic and Ramires have earned legendary status because of their exploits in the CL. But Jesus Christ it's painful seeing some of their distribution sometimes.
