The bigger risk was probably from the huge concentrations of urine on the surface. Old Trafford cricket ground stinks for ages after a concert.

True, but a) call the game off and it adds significant fuel to the fire in making even more people angry and those who are already angry, even angrier and b) given a couple of hours, the police have time to call in significant extra resources, whereas they would not have that time if they had simply called it off.

Kenny Jacket is a tool. Okay maybe it was WH fans who invaded the pitch which ws bang out of order but what about the Millwall fans scrapping with stewards and police and throwing bottles onto the pitch. He said ''They never got the chance to go on the pitch, they were hemmed in''. Did he want them to have the chance and of course they were hemmed in, as a result of piling forwards and trying to get at police etc.
