You remember the Generation Game when an expert would show Jim and his niece Leslie from Walsall how to make a perfect clay pot?
Barça are making the rest of La Liga look like they're from Walsall.

Went to the City v Everton game today. Very, very strange refereeing from Howard Webb today. City are obviously a more talented team than Everton but I lost a lot of respect for David Silva today. He is the football equivalent of Sam Tomkins, determined to cheat whenever possible. He was diving today when players were a good foot or two away from him. Whenever anyone did put a tackle in on him, he did the rapid spin on the floor every holding his shin, even though none of the tackles came anywhere close to hurting him. With the class he's got, why does he need to descend to that level? Webb's performance was shocking, clearly focused on protecting City when he's meant to be impartial.

The Phil Neville booking was ridiculous. That was right near us and it was utterly stupid. At worst he accidentally knocks his heels, but I don't think there was any physical contact at all, hence his bemused look. Silva's breakdancing didn't help. Cahill's booking was also very harsh and I'm not so sure the stamp on his shin was exactly accidental either.

Then Webb goes and really winds me up by letting the worst challenge of the day go without even so much as a warning. Balotelli deliberately raking his studs down the back of Jagielka's leg as he cleared was a really sly challenge and he ignored it. Then Saha skins Kompany right on the edge of the box with a full on body check, a tackle Adrian Morley would have been proud of, and he sees no wrong in it.

If City are going to win the league they'll have to play better than today. Nasri was never in the game and they didn't come close to breaking Everton down until Balotelli's fluke. His shot was awful, heading straight for Tim Howard. Yet after the deflection he peels away like he's Messi and he casually bent it into the corner. It would be interesting to see City without Silva at the moment, he is everything to them, a fabulous player when not trying to cheat his way through the game.

Did you forget when he was out last year and we were still winning, or when he went helpful for 9 months.

Stoke deserved their point today, we should have had two penalties but were fortunate last week, things even themselves out. Hard place to go.

Stoke did well, was one of those sorts of games that United would have scored a last minute winner in last season - they deserved a point though.

I think no penalty on both counts was right. Hernandez stood on the ball and fell over for the first one.

Second one was ball to hand - he had his back turned. Craig Burley's outburst on the commentary was comedy gold though. Ranting and raving for a good 5 minutes about it being handball and not offside...until he saw a proper replay of it when he suddenly went quiet

Watching Barcelona now. Lionel Messi is just shreding them and he's barely broken into a sprint all game.

For the last half hour they've just been trying to kick him. They can't even get close to him. Best player in the world ever. It's without question.

There will be people who will name the likes of Pele, Maradona, Anders Limpar etc, but he's better than them all. It's too easy for him.

Defences in La Liga are appaling though, Fabregas was never a really prolific scorer here and then bang popping them in all over the place there.

For the second league game in a row Torres has taken two steps forward and one back. They are still steps forward though, so it's a start. His finish at OT, the way he went round De Gea and finish today show that the class striker is still there.

But the open goal and today's shocking challenge show there is still something wrong.

The worst thing for Torres could be the fact that Drogba now has three games to show that he's still the top striker at SB.

Have you seen the passes he's been getting from Messi? Any player who makes attacking runs like Fabregas does would be banging them in anywhere in the world with service like that, I'm not a fan of Barcelona at all but their link-up play has been a joy to watch for any football fan.

Barca were good tonight, but Atleti were predictably pathetic, seems they'd learnt little from the way Valencia pressed and attacked Barca on Wednesday - very strange as pressing had been a key part of the two home wins, albeit against weaker opposition.

I thought Everton were a joke. Parked the bus from minute 1 and had 10 men behind the ball almost every City attack. So negative. It's hard to break a team down when they do that.
