Wait til the new rules come in about clubs spending in relation to income, you will see the true big clubs prosper and the plastic pretenders like Man City and Chelsea slowly fade away to the mediocrity they were before the sugar daddies came.

Won't the owners just use shirt sponsorship to get round that,Roman can just put his gas company on Chelsea's shirt and pay them £50 million a year to do it.

Be interesting to see what happens when that comes in. Given that as it stands you would be looking at a champions league without Barcelona, Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid and I'd guess many others. Can't see Uefa allowing that.

Apparently there are 20 odd pages of regulations designed to stop just that kind of thing. I recall the vile Neil Custis suggesting that Mansour would try that approach. FIFA have already thought of it and it simply won't work. Speaking of Custis, he also said that Rafael was 'nowhere near good enough to play for United' and about 2 months later saying he was 'one of the players of the season'. Clueless fat w******.

as has already been pointed out Chelsea were winning stuff before Roman turned up - granted the business as it is now would be fked if he got bored and cleared off as they lost 70 odd million last year.

They had money before Roman too. They used to spend big every year a bit like Tottenham only moreso. Vialli and Gullit couldn't have come cheap. Roman just gave them the edge by giving them virtually no limits to expenditure for a while. (Within reason).

No chance. Liverpool are 6 points behind having played a game more and Chelsea's goal difference is about 20 better.
