I don't know if the poster is implying that teams who are already successful are more worthy / deserving of investment. If that's the case then I can't agree with it.

If Man Utd were to get Man City style investment after years of success it would further monopolise the league. How does that fit in with evening the league out with salary caps etc?

They have had their success, surely ohter teams deserve some too.

FIFA now saying they'll ban him if City write to them according to the news. Utterly bizarre. Quoting precedence and that if he is allowed to get away with it then contracts will mean nothing and players will do it all the time to force moves.

Just loan him out to a lower league team like Morecambe. City have still got to pay his wages anyway. Send him to Morecambe - that way he's fed up of playing in a lower league side and also it beneifts Morecambe because they get a class player. Easy.

Unfortunately it ain't like American sports. Players can say no.

I think they should bring that rule in though, would be absolutely comedy.

No, what I was saying was that sides who actually strive to improve by showing some form of initiative are more deserving. City got gifted a new stadium, if that wasn't a big enough boost for the club, they then go and get the richest owners in the world.

In all honesty, no football side deserves external investment of that size. Every club should be profitable and should be able to compete to the necessary level without all of the investment. It sort of makes the point of competition pointless.

I'm not a Man City fan. I'm a Shrewsbury Town fan and proud.

It's people like you who probably sit back and watch whilst their local club is going bust (Chester, Wrexham possibly) just because it's cool to support a team from 100 miles away who win the trophies. Makes me sick.
