Chris Samba's agent confirmed that, in line with most QPR players, there is no clause for a reduction in salary on relegation.
There be a train a-coming...

Sheer lunacy. Although TBH, I have a feeling they might just scrape a way out of the relegation places and so 'get away with it' to a certain extent (obviously they'll still have a load of overpaid players and probably be losing money for the next few years at least).

Have you watched much football down Newton Heath (you know, that bit of Manchester 10-15 miles North East of Old Trafford) lately, matey?

Just too, too easy...

You're a shallow, glory-hunting, token-Aon-shirt-wearing armchair numpty and you know it. Your desperate, sputtering excuses will never hide the fact. Hang your head in shame.

*facepalm*

I suppose it would have been too much to expect a Sky-subscription Aon-shirted numpty to know anything about the history of "their" "club" from before about 1996...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1886%E2%80 ... .C._season

Ooh look - a club that moved a long way away from it's roots to make more money and then changed it's name, badge and colours. Bunch of franchise scumbags if you ask me...

*sigh*

FWIW I still have more than a little regard for AFC Diamonds (they stand a sight more chance of promotion this season than we do ;)) and if there'd been continuity between the death of the old club and the birth of the new then I'd no doubt happily be standing on the terraces of the Dog & Duck every week now instead of enjoying my glorious padded seat and ample legroom at Stadium:MK instead. But in the year's gap between the 2 I got sucked in by the allure of the Mighty Dons instead. At the end of the day, you don't choose your club - it chooses you. Maybe that even applies to some Sky-Subscription-Aon-Shirt scumbags, who knows?

Interesting, you bring up the AON shirts, but not the Samsung, Standard Chartered, Etihad or Fly Emirates shirts...?

It doesn't though, does it? What happened at R&D was a shambles. Enough of us have been through similar experiences to know what it's like, many also experiencing being part of the effort to start anew. You chose not to be part of that, choosing instead to go support something else.

I'm not right fussy who people choose to support - their decision, doesn't affect me - but I reserve the right to mock my colleague from the same town as me who chooses to support a club from elsewhere. But there's something about lambasting people for supporting a team that doesn't fit a narrow definition of what's right that doesn't sit right when the lambaster has switched allegiance so. Adding in the fact of who the allegiance was switched to and you have a toxic blend.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

How is it an overreaction? An overreaction would be to claim we'll be relegated or the world will end if we don't sign anyone. Everton are doing well to be 5th, but will struggle to maintain that. The money thing is interesting, I had assumed we wouldn't be doing any business in the window so was massively surprised to see the bid for Fer and realise that it wasn't just to allow Fellaini to leave.

The tired legs bit you laughed at it already happening. Have you seen Leon Osman play recently? He's in horrible form, being asked to do too much running in central midfield, in too deep a position. Everton need a player or two, particularly in central midfield.

I don't deny that we could do with a quality addition in midfield (to get Phil Nevile out of there)and, ideally, another striker, but I don't think we should be pushed into panic buying for the sake of it.

Seriously, who would you suggest we could have brought in who could have really IMPROVED our team, and not simply been a number (in a James McFadden type of way)??

The truth is, the January window is an absolute rip-off and should be avoided if possible - The only players available are other side's cast-offs (those that QPR have signed) and vastly overpriced players (those that QPR have signed).

Yes, realistically, we will find it tough to keep our European challenge going, but, at the same time, I don't think those challenging around us have significantly strengthened to the point where you fear one side will suddenly start to go on some 6 or 7 match winning streak which will clinch them 4th spot.

Moussa Sissoko would have improved most sides in the Premier League. In fairness to Everton, we wouldn't have been having this discussion if Fer didn't have a dodgy knee. He'd have signed and with the young boy Stones we'd probably be commenting on another fine window and a push towards the top 4 if Jelavic found himself again.

I don't think a panic signing would have been a good idea either, but the loan market is surely a relatively low risk approach? There were some decent players being offered around on loan and whilst they probably wouldn't have improved the strongest 11, they would have enabled the likes of Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini and Neville to be kept in decent condition.
