Lucky win for United yesterday. City were the better team, I was shocked by how bad there support was. Sang for about ten minutes after the goal, simply awful. That Poznan thing look's good.

Correct. Juve were very interested on Scholes too. But don't let facts get in the way of LGJM's moan. I'd take the opinions of the likes of Zidane, Xavi and Lippi over some opinions on an Internet message board.

Nice to see Beckham there today. I think Summerbee should be on Sky every week. Comedy gold.

On City, it will be interesting to see how they react now. They need a top 4 finish this year. If not it will be impossible to keep Tevez and very tough to hold onto Silva. They are class. A big club will surely be looking at Kompany too, he seems to be superb week in week out.

TBH I think Tevez will leave irrespective of our finishing position. The "making up" process had all the hallmarks of an agreement for him to leave in the summer.

Failure to finish in the top 4 would be a massive blow but, Tevez and possibly Balotelli aside, I'd be suprised if there were many unwanted departures unless the board lose their marbles and sack Mancini.

We're far from the finished article, really need a creative midfield player. But even if we didnt sign any more players I would expect us to pick up an extra 10 points at least next season by virtue of the squad being together longer.

Re: Football Chat Thread : Sun Feb 13, 2011 12:30 pm
I am writing to express my complete and utter condemnation of the treatment given to a true English Legend such as Mike Summerbee during your coverage of the Manchester Derby on 12/2/2011.

It seems very obvious to me that every attempt was made to belittle, ridicule and demean every positive comment the former Manchester City winger made, by his fellow pundits Redknapp and Yorke and of the main presenter.

The most telling was their attempt to portray Mr Summerbee as someone who was not in complete possession of the facts of the game by revealing the stats which showed Man Utd had a 54%-46% possession advantage over Manchester City.

However the TRUE faces as stated on your OWN website and various other websites shows that Mr Summerbee was actually correct in his assumption that Manchester City possessed a greater period of possession (51%-49% in favour of Manchester City)

I would like to know whether or not it is the general practice of Sky Sports football coverage to present inaccurate facts and to demean past legends of the game just so you can present a positive and superior image of Man Utd over Manchester City.

I also noticed the bias concerning Mr Tyler in his commentary, went beyond the realms of the acceptible and a blatant example of a lack of impartiality.

For someone like myself who has subscribed to Sky Sports for 7 years, i have noticed this trend for a while but it is only after today that it has become glaringly obvious that, for a self confessed impartial sports broadcaster, today's events and spiteful, playground demeaning of Mr Summerbee leads me and indeed others, to believe this is anything but the case for Sky Sports, and as a result i am seriously considering my subscription as a viewer, i don't expect to see a one-sided viewpoint from the presenters and indeed the network for such high profile games such as this.

I expect at least a reply from someone at Sky Sports to explain why the programme had an obvious bias towards Man Utd and the dispicable attempt of demeaning a long serving former English footballer using inaccurate or misinterpreted statistics which have since shown Mr Summerbee's comments to be wholly accurate in their delivery

Call me nuts, but wasn't Summerbee saying "we had 60% possession and we dominated them" or words to that effect?

He was the one embarrassing himself, to be honest. The game had finished, Sky were showing the goals from the replays, which set Summerbee off with things like "I wish you'd show replays of some of the chances we created because we dominate United" etc. etc. I just couldn't help but laugh at him, I said to my girlfriend's dad "I'm sure he's got a bit of Evertonian in his heritage, he oozes with bitterness and desperation".

SKY knew full well when they hired Buzzer that they weren't going to get a cool, dispassionate analysis of the game, just a very passionate admittedly one eyed City viewpoint.

Laugh at him as much as you like, he achieved the seemingly impossible task of increasing his already iconic status as far as City fans are concerned.

It was like putting Crerand on there, never going to be objective - however he made himself look a tw&t.

Sky were quite rightly concentrating on the goal, you could see he did not like it. Then they started reviewing the other goals, the Nani goal was the first so they showed that, Sumerbitter then starting moaning and make himself look stupid by saying can't we talk about City blah blah. He made himself look pathetic and whislt he was right to talk up the way City had played they way he went about it just meant everybody was laughing at him.

there are a couple of versions of it on youtube, on the longer one, you get about 20 or 30 seconds of him sat there looking like he's going to explode, before he starts biatching.

City played well in parts, but VDS was hardly overworked, what are they going to talk about - Rooney's winner or speculate where Dzeko's original shot would have ended up had it not hit Silva on the &rse?

We're not laughing with you - we're laughing at you.

Bitter personified.
