Who would you take from this present United side, who would be able to improve either City or Chelsea?......Definitely Van Persie for both, Vidic the same (though some would argue he's past his best now) and Rooney maybe for Chelsea, but apart from that I'm seriously struggling.

On the other hand, I reckon the likes of Mata, Hazard, Yaya Toure, Kompany and quite a few more, would be more than welcomed at Old Trafford by United fans.....The way Fergie has got a realtively average set of players to back up Van Persie is a fantastic acheievement.

Cannot understand why they did not buy Wanyama from Celtic in january. He will be worth double by the time Celtic sell him in the summer

Same old, Same old im afraid by Liverpool tonight. I really do believe we need an experienced manager to take this team forward. There is no mentality whats soever .

I largely agree, i said to a few people during last season that should fergie win the title (which we should have done) with that set of players it would have been right up there amongst his finest achievements.

I think De Gea will become a phenomenal keeper
Rafael I rate highly
Evans has really established himself this year
I think Cleverley has come on this year and adds some tempo to the otherwise ageing midfield.
Carrick is incredibly important to United.
Whilst at times Welbeck can look iffy he seems to be highly rated by SAF and Hodgson and is gaining valuable experience.

thats a good core of young players (apart from carrick) finding their feet and establishing themselves, you might say City or Chelsea would want them, but aside from those you mention, there are plenty of 1st team regulars in the MCFC & CFC teams that i wouldn't be too bothered about, or certainly not at the prices they were bought for or the wages they supposedly command.

What United have is a set of players that complement each other so well and work hard for one another. You can't simply buy a superstar for every position.

Quite simply, they appoint Moyes and they need L plates on or they're getting a ticket (which considering the driving records of the Manchester clubs, is no big deal ).

They appoint Mourinho, they've got a hungrier, more intense, younger version of Fergie.

They appoint a top quality manager from Europe and it could go either way. It will be interesting to see how much time Man United give to a manager who is perceived to be failing and out of his depth.

But then again, Benitez will be available....
