I've stated that Sinclairs goal is better, it was me that brought that goal up. You continually keep stating it's getting too much attention. I explained why. Don't understand why you feel the need to repeat it ad nauseum, it's pretty obvious why it's getting so much attention to all but you seemingly.

It's cause you used it as a tool to belittle Rooney's goal by saying another was better. Being a bin dipper doesn't help your cause mate.

Dean Ashton's overhead kick against Man Utd was a beauty as well.

Okay, maybe I am being a little clueless and I don't wish to see a Man Utd player scoring a wonderful winning goal to beat City. Can you see my point now, being a bin dipper, and all that.

See that's the problem. Who actually stated it was the greatest goal ever as you seem to be implying? Great goal, big significance and scored by, in many people's eyes, one of the best English players of his generation. He's had a pants season, was kept largely anonymous by an excellent Kompany but managed to come up with something extra special to win the match. And no, Rooney isn't "back" on the basis of one great goal but hopefully it will spur him on to being a key figure for Utd in the run-in.

BTW, very impressed with Kompany & Silva, ditto Smalling & Nani (who has come on in leaps & bounds this season).

Cracking player was Deano. Really believe he'd have formed a fantastic partnership with Rooney for England. Had pretty much the lot (except express pace) and a very intelligent player. Shame we never got to see him at his peak.

Bollxcks. I'm not doubting how good a goal it was. It was a terrific goal, just that I have seen better goals and that if it was, for example, say; Kevin Davies, it wouldn't get half as much notice.

Sublime goal. Sublime peice of skill. Just, I've seen better ones.

Don't be daft, mate. It was a superb goal, the athleticism, skill and timing to score a goal like that is incredible and it fully deserves the praise it has received. Course there has been better goals but to score a winner like that in a derby game, terrific.

If you want to see, IMO, the best overhead kick goal have a search for Fiorentina's Mauro Bressan against Barcelona, breathtaking.

I agree. Sheringham's heir apparent in a lot of ways IMO, a real shame.

Re: Football Chat Thread : Tue Feb 15, 2011 12:56 am
How good did David Luiz look tonight? I've not seen much of him before but he looks special. One of those continental defenders who is as dangerous and involved in the attacking as he is in the defending. The physical similarities to Sergio Ramos are obvious, but he plays like him too. If that's his debut in this country I can't imagine how good he's going to be once he's settled in.

As for the other expensive signing. I can honestly say I could have done better than he did tonight. The miss-control from the brilliant Luiz pass in the first half was just embarassing. Again tonight he simply wasn't good enough for a man they've spent £50m on. It's been that long since he's been in form I'm not convinced he can ever get it back. His touch just seems to have completely deserted him and the trademark razor-sharpness and acceleration has disappeared as well. He just doesn't look the same player he was a couple of years ago.
