It looks like Everton are going to have a complete reversal of their normal seasonal trend. Rather than go on an impressive run in the second half of the season, I can see us barely winning a game from now till the end of the season.

Looking at his results for 2013, Moyes is as close to becoming Manchester United manager as I am.

After a turbulant and mainly mediocre period in the 90's, I will always be grateful to David Moyes for stabilising Everton over the last 12 years into a top 7 or 8 side.
However, its becoming increasingly obvious that this summer will be the right time for Moyes and Everton to part company, for both sides' sake, as its becoming painfully obvious that he has taken the club as far as he can and that he is in need of a new challenge and, similarly, Everton are in desparate need of new ideas.
Its not as if he is overacheiving with this present side - Yes, it is a small squad, but he has some quality players at his disposal, yet, because of his negative tactical style, we continue to frustrate.
Personally, I would love to see Roberto Marinez given a go.....In a way, the Everton and Wigan jobs are quite a similar one, except with higher budgets at Everton, so I think it would be no great risk to give the fellow a chance - Hopefully, it might see a better brand of football, or at least a brand of football that doesn't involve sitting on 1 goal leads against inferior opposition and then, more often than not, giving away silly late goals because of it.

I still maintain that it's our lack of depth that is costing us. The starting 11 is very strong, but they have to play every game or we're very vulnerable. The likes of Osman and Pienaar aren't natural athletes and yet play pretty much every minute. If we had two or three players of the same quality that could come in when it gets stale, like it is now, we'd be fine and in the hunt for the top 5/6.
I don't see what someone like Martinez would bring. If anything, he's spent more money than Moyes has.

Who, in the present Wigan squad, has Martinez spent significant cash on??...
He has definitely never had £15 million to spend on a midfielder, or decent cash for players like Mirallas and Jelavic.
As for what he would bring, well, like I said, some fresh ideas, instead of the stale stuff we have served up since the clocks went back at the end of October - Since New Year we have been awful and Moyes doesn't seem capable or, to put it bluntly, that bothered to turn it round.
Yesterday's collapse at Norwich was a joke and made more embarrassing by Moyes' ranting at the officials at the final whistle, with his complaining about a little extra injury time than there should have been.....It just looked like somebody trying to cover his own incompetence to hang onto a lead, rather than a realistic case for complaint against the referee.
Well done to Swansea, a shining example of a well run club who have a good football philosophy, are run well within budgets and have a great eye for a bargin...also who are managed by someone who shows class and respect in all media interviews.
Also sounds like Bradford fans enjoyed their day despite the scoreline .

I think Dyer's reaction to not taking the penalty was abit over OTT.
Starting to becone a big fan of Laudrup's. Has it all philosophy, class, astute in the market, relatively young.
He could be the Madrid boss next year if you believe reports in Spain.
Real Madrid are even worse than us over managers.
If Laudrup didn't have his playing career Real Madrid wouldn't even begin to consider him. Look at his managerial stats, his length of tenure at a few of the clubs he's been at. There's nothing there to suggest he's got what it takes to manage at Real Madrid.
If Laudrup is a future great manager, then Real Madrid will always be a great option for him. But a club like Real Madrid don't need to take a mammoth punt on him because if the wheels do fall off they like total idiots.
