Cutler has the skills to lead a team to the superbowl win if he can learn to throw the ball away more often instead of taking a sack or throwing an int but Orton will only ever be an ok QB.

Orton had more passing yards.
9 interceptions to Jay's 16. (Cutler has 23 TD's to Orton's 20)
More passes of 20 and 40 yards.
Better QB rating.

Hardly better in EVERY facet.

I'm not neccesarily saying Orton is the better QB (because I don't think he is), but I would take Orton. If you have a decent team already he is more consistent and able to control a game without tossing interception after interception.

Attributes have more to do with it than Stats. Stats mean nothing. Cutler plays in the NFL's toughest division. Orton in one of the weakest.

IIRC, in his Rookie Season, Orton took Chicago to the playoffs. He's a good QB, nothing flashy, just solid. He will get the job done and move the chains.

Arizona are quite high on him according to a mate of mine who's a Cardinals fan.


Look at some of the QBs who've played in the Superbowl in recent years: Rex Grossman, Matt Hasselbeck, Jake Delhomme, Brad Johnson, Kerry Collins, Trent Dilfer.

How many of those were great?

Meant to post this the other day but forgot.

The Bucs turned down the oportunity to be on Hard Knocks. They dont want too many distruptions to the young team with what will already be a very short camp.

It will be a boring hard knocks this year anyway seeing as players can't even communicate with coaches until the lockout is over!

Fair comment. I'm not sure why any team would do that show anyway.

You heard about Asomougha (sp) being linked with the Bucs? That would be a pretty special addition.

Ever since he went on FA we have been "linked". The only way I can see us getting him is if Talib gets jail time and we cut him. It would be pretty awesome to have both of them though.

Talib hearing reset

A Dallas County grand jury, scheduled to hear evidence in the Texas shooting case involving Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib, has been tentatively reset to May 25, according to attorney Frank Perez.

Talib is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony which carries a punishment of two to 20 years in prison, for his role in a March 21 shooting in Garland, Texas.

Police say Talib tried to pistol whip, and later fired gunshots at, his sister's boyfriend, Shannon Billings. Nobody was injured. Talib's mother, Okolo, faces similar charges.

Rumours linking Aso to everywhere. So far i've heard: Bucs, Packers, Redskins, Patriots and a few others.

I know he's really good friends with Charles Woodson so hopefully Woody could persuade him to join us. It would allow us to play Woodson in a predator type role (or safety) where he'd have an excellent impact. If we had a backfield of Woodson and Collins at safety with Aso and Tramon Williams at CB and Sam Shields at nickel would be unbelievable.

I think he'll want a ridiculous amount of money though and i'd rather not get in a bidding war for him.
