The media overrate him, I've a couple of mates that are City fans who claim him the league's best and he's magically made it into a PFA team of the year in the past, which shows something's not right if he's generally viewed as a WIP.
So obvious, you had to confirm it?
Of course it's my opinion, but he is, as Raphael put it, 'typically English'.
Considering the general tendency of the media to treat any half decent young player as the saviour of english football, I would say that their reporting of Hart has been fairly balanced. He got a fair bit of hype by virtue of not playing in the World Cup, but that was par for the course bearing in mind the backlash against Green and England generally.
I think you could find fans from every club who will claim that their goalkeeper/ striker / tea lady is the best in the league. I remember a few City fans saying that about Kasper Schmeichal after he'd played twice. I wouldnt say they are representative. In fact there's currently a thread running on Bluemoon about Hart, about 5% of the contributors reckon he's the best in the league and the other 95% reckon he's good but needs to improve.
I think he got the PFA nod when he played for Birmingham. Obviously I didnt see as much of him that year but he seemed to have a good season.
