I'm still shaking my head at Sky's reaction to City's demolition. They were making excuses for Utd's performance, rather than praise City's
They steamrollered Utd...
For all that posession early on, the first meaningful touch by Joe Hart, was about 35 minutes. That tells you a lot.
The scoreline (but for some wastefulness) COULD have easily been in double figures.
The second Ballotelli goal....words fail me...many people (myself included) rate the Carlos Alberto (WCFinal 70) as the best goal of all time. Well, Mario's might not have been as spectacular, but the build up....SENSATIONAL

Man City were sensational today. I thought we started well and looked lively but never troubled Hart. Fergie got the midfield wrong, Silva was the extra man all the time. Congratulations to City, I left at four thankfully. We were 8 points behind Chelsea a year ago, City are a different proposition though.

Exactly. They shouldn't be allowed to spend that sort of money and should take United's approach of not simply 'buying titles' like they've done with the transfers of the likes of Rooney, Ferdinand, Nani, Valencia, Young and Berbatov. Oh wait...

It's just now, their near neighbours whom you are so used to being in your shadow have come along and are flexing bigger muscles, you don't really like it. You are used to being in the comfort zone of having everything go your way, winning your precious premier league title, and lording it over everyone else.

Well no more. Get used to city making you squirm. The very factors that made unite so dominant have now combined to make the neighbours potentially stronger.

Deal with it.

But does allowing Man City to buy domination benefit anyone bar City fans?

Today, whilst magnificent if you are a City fan, had more than a whiff of inevitability about it. City, given the quality they have, could run that score up most weeks.

Enjoyed watching it happen mind, United's back line look utterly fragile at the moment.

City for the Premier League looks a safe bet to me. They'll completely outclass and overwhelm most sides. In a couple of years they could give Barcelona a test.

Not convinced it's a good thing though if football is dominated by an even smaller number of sides. No one can compete with City and it's got nothing to do with sport.
