The penalty was on the massively soft side. And the QPR player pushed Luiz with both hands right before it. A ref can give a pen for that, but the vast majority of refs won't.
But having given that utterly soft penalty, it staggers belief when the QPR players were throwing their arms around Lampard and Luiz that he didn't judge them with the same harshness.
The sending off was again on the borders of yellow and red. SWP was having to go around Bosingwa, there was an element of pushing from SWP, they weren't going towards goal and Terry looked to have been slightly ahead of them in a position to cover. But Foy went straight to his red card instantly without any consultation with his lino.
No problem with the red for Drogba. Drogba was as retarded as Torres was. Utterly ridiculous from him and I think he's just got himself a move in January after the last 2 games. A sad end for a legendary performer.
Lampard was hit late from behind. Foy gave nothing. Lampard remonstrates with the QPR player, they square up. Both players get booked.
QPR give a short back pass which puts the keeper under pressure. JT charges down the keeper, but doesn't seem to make any contact. QPR keeper goes mental at JT and squares up with him. JT is booked.
There were 17 fouls in the match by each side. 2 bookings to QPR, one for the Lampard confrontation. 2 red cards to Chelsea, 7 bookings. There were numerous late fouls from behind from QPR that could have resulted in a yellow, none were given apart from Barton's.
Villas Boas will be charged over his comments and he is guilty. But he's still right to say them. Foy was reffing both sides differently and the video evidence clearly backs this up. If Luiz's contact is enough for a pen, and Bosingwa's shirt tug is enough for a red then it is utterly ridiculous when the ref sees QPR players do similiar, and worse things at the other end and gives nothing.
