You're mint.
Krul's striking the ball on the pic, before the Blackburn player gets near. If your eyesight isn't up to seeing it on the TV replay, I suggest watching it in slow-motion to make it a little easier for you.
So you're basing your argument that Ba's wasn't a penalty as he "probably was holding the defenders shirt too". Superb.
I know exactly who Chris Hoy is cheers, shame the stupid Chelsea fans didn't know who he was on Sunday night when they were sending abuse his way for how he reffed the game.
This one was my personal favourite: CHRIS HOY IS A FUC*IN CU*T WE SHOULD HAVE HAD 3 PENALTIES WHAT A FUC*IN CU*T HOPE HE DIES, SON OF A CU*T :/ #CFC
I've watched the replay far too many times.
In full speed, I still maintain that it looks like the Blackburn player nicked the ball. The speed of the ball after contact, the direction of the ball after contact, the reaction from both players, everything points to the Blackburn player getting to the ball first.
I have however watched the incident back using the frame by frame setting on WMP. That is almost certainly where your pic comes from, and IMO the frames are too far apart to prove anything. Krul looks to be close to kicking the ball in one frame, in the next frame the ball has been kicked but the Rovers player's foot is ahead of Krul's.
I'm sure some geordie twitterer's opinions of Pardew and Ashley would be hilarious and far worse than some Chelsea supporters opinion of Foy or Hoy. Who gives a ****?
The first incident. Do you even admit that Ba shoved the defender when they were about 20m from the area and the ball was coming over the top? He clearly shoves him, the Blackburn player is pushed off balance, but carries on his run too track back. Ba then shepherds the ball into the area, the Blackburn player is tugging at him a little. Ba turns, sticks his arm out to hand off the defender, the defender stumbles and while falling looks to grab hold of Ba's shirt (which your pic captures).
Now, that definitely can be given, as there was clear shirt pulling from the defender, but Ba was also using his arms and was involved in a quick turn while attempting to hold the defender off with his arm.
Given that Ba committed the first offence that went unpunished and given that Ba was using his arms and hands too, you rarely get these decisions. Referees do have a bias against attackers in that position simply because the weight of the decision is much heavier when deciding against a defender in that position.
