Just at the start of the second half I think there's a perfect example of why the issue of diving is such a grey area.
David Luiz fouled Jones on the edge of the box. It was a foul, he made contact with Jones and got nowhere near the ball. But his foul didn't bring Jones down, Jones had to throw himself to the deck. If he hadn't gone down IMO the ref would have never given that as a foul though. But the conventional thinking on diving is that if a player exaggerates the contact on him he's dived. IMO this example shows that it simply isn't as clear as that.
I thought Ba's goal was similar to United's headed goal in the drawn game. Beautiful, impossible to defend against ball in, the attacker simply concentrates on making contact, the contact is perfect and results in the keeper being able to do nothing but watch the ball go past him.
I think that Man United aren't that great a team. I've said it before but their greatness is in managing to secure great results even when they're not that great a team.
Even today, when generally they were pretty poor, they had two great chances to level. Cech produced an awesome save against Hernandez and RVP had the touch of a rapist
for the cross when most United fans would have been starting to celebrate a goal.
I read at half time that Oliver Holt was tweeting that Chelsea fans booing of Ferdinand was racially motivated. He was the main proponent of the bonfire song being racist too. Holt and Ferninand really need to just admit they're in a gay relationship and then they can play the gay and race cards every week. Because there's no way Holt is an objective journalist when it comes to Rio Ferdinand. They've either got a lot of money invested together or they are ****ing each other.
