I think I'd take Saha over Demba Ba though, he's hit some cracking form lately but when he's fit Saha is still class. I'd loved us to have signed Demba Ba in the summer, he was a player I really wanted but always thought we'd lose out to someone. Whatever happens on Saturday we've got some bigger games coming up IMO with Wolves, Bolton and Stoke after the international break and they could really dictate where we will be in the new year. Couldn't agree more about Drenthe though he was really looking good until he got sent off too, he could be the key to us opening Newcastle up.

Ha - I'm sympathetic towards McFadden and think if he can stay fit then he could do a good job off the bench. I thought we played really well against Chelsea and Man Utd, having the lion's share of chances in both games, just lacked ruthlessness.

I think it will all come together eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later though. Not vital to win at the moment as Newcastle are on good form and St James's Park is a tough cookie, but if we could deliver their first defeat it could provide the confidence to kickstart a solid run up to Christmas.

That said - if Tony Hibbert plays then we might aswell surrender the 3pts prior to kickoff and begin registering for the Championship. Joking .. ish, but he really is an abysmal footballer and he will forever be one player I believe Moyes has allowed to stay 5/6 years too many.

Ah well - roll on Saturday. COYB!

Is that not the issue though mate?

As good as he can be, you simply can't rely on him to offer you that on a consistent enough basis.

Spot on - he's playing decent at the moment but from past experience, he'll soon be injured or unable to score.
