Ha - I'm sympathetic towards McFadden and think if he can stay fit then he could do a good job off the bench. I thought we played really well against Chelsea and Man Utd, having the lion's share of chances in both games, just lacked ruthlessness.
I've never liked him and I don't see the point in him coming back however he is back now so all I hope is he proves me wrong. It has been out problem all season I think mate, we are very wasteful upfront and, until Drenthe finds his fitness, we've not created enough from midfield. Moyes' is to stubborn to chage his formation so unless Saha has good support from midfield we'll never score enough. I think we played better against Man Utd than in most games this season but I'm not sure whether we played well or just better, plus I don't think United ever got out of first gear.

I think it will all come together eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later though. Not vital to win at the moment as Newcastle are on good form and St James's Park is a tough cookie, but if we could deliver their first defeat it could provide the confidence to kickstart a solid run up to Christmas.
It'd be great to go and win at SJP tomorrow, we won there last season and it'd be a massive confidence booster if we can but I can see goals tomorrow and I think Newcastle will be able to outscore us. Ba is in great form playing really well but it's Cabaye that worries me he looks a quality player plus they have loads of pace going forward.

That said - if Tony Hibbert plays then we might aswell surrender the 3pts prior to kickoff and begin registering for the Championship. Joking .. ish, but he really is an abysmal footballer and he will forever be one player I believe Moyes has allowed to stay 5/6 years too many.
I'll defend Tony Hibbert all day long, mate. People have their opinion of him and that's their choice but having watched him for a very long time the lad can defend. We all know he can't attack and he's not a 'footballer' but defensively there aren't too many better than him.

Is that not the issue though mate?
As good as he can be, you simply can't rely on him to offer you that on a consistent enough basis.

Exactly mate and that's why we were desperate for a striker like Ba in the summer, Saha is still a quality player and will always score goals but he can't be relyed upon to play week in week out but we have very little back up. Having said that if he was fit enough to play week in week out he wouldn't be an Everton player, he'd probably still be at United.
