Malaga's second goal was offside anyway.

I only turned it on as Reus was rolling the second in with a few to go. I'm sure that wasn't the deciding factor in the officials' decision to award the goal.

Their winning 'goal' was an interesting one. The four players offside was shocking, truly farcical from the linesman and it's a pity that something like that can be given in such a big game. Malaga's second was offside I think, but nowhere near as obvious as the Dortmund one.

With regards to the second part of the Dortmund winner, I can't make my mind up on that. If the Malaga player was behind the goal line and thus 'off the field', what if he blocked it from going in? As far as I see it, there was a player ahead of Santana so he wasn't offside for me, I'm not sure how they word it in the rules, though.

Didn't pay attention to the celebrating but your lot celebrate a draw like that in the derby so I'm not sure why you're picking at Dortmund for celebrating.

Agree totally with that. The lino needs a beating for that. It was almost as if Dortmund were the defending team with that way they were all stood. A truly shocking lino call.

then when the ball is put into the net by Santana he's stood on the goal line when the ball is played to him, ahead of the keeper. The only Malaga player his side of the ball was over the line in the net. Surely offside unless I've misunderstood it all these years?

There's got to be 2 players between the player and the goal line. Usually it's just the one plus the keeper. One first glance it looked like it was a clear offside, but I think it is actually so close that I'd give BOD to the striker in this. You have to look at the keeper diving at the ball just as the Dortmund player touches it towards the scorer. At that moment the keeper is making a huge lunge over the ball his left hand is outstretched and I think that his hand is so close to the Dortmund player that I'd call that onside. The Sky box is pretty poor at freeze framing so I can't be certain and I haven't seen the after game summaries but I think that was close enough to let the lino off for. Pity about his call 3 seconds before that though.

The reaction to the goal was a farce. Technical area? There were Dortmund subs running into the Malaga goalkeeper and getting as far across the pitch as the far corner flag. After the game the entire club it seemed flooded onto the field for another spell of way OTT celebrating. I don't think I saw one hand shake between the lot of them. I really hope they go out in the semis.

You're Everton, yeah? I think you're so used to mid-table boredom that you've forgotten what it's like to win an important match in difficult circumstances. They were out of the Champions League. A few minutes and two goals later they'd rescued it.

If you hadn't OD'd on misery I don't think I'd have had a moments thought about all that. An amazing game. Totally understand Dortmund's huge relief and I don't think a single Malaga player would have known/cared whether there were handshakes or not.

As far as I'm concerned the player on the line was always active, even if he was behind the line at some point. He was there to try and block any shot or make any clearance. For part of the time he looked to be on his ass with his feet dangling onto the pitch.

The only issue is whether the keeper was the 2nd opponent playing the scorer on. And it was just at the moment the ball was passed that matters. During the pinball session where the ball was fizzing around the box the scorer was onside. The ball broke and the the scorer was clearly stood in an offside position. But it wasn't until the keeper and attacker went for the ball that the ball was played. That was the only moment when the lino needed to make the on/off call.

If he hadn't made one of the worst lino calls in the history of football 3 seconds before that. I've always remained bitter about Ravenelli and RVP being given goals against us in ridiculous circumstances, but tonight I don't know if the lino thought the Dortmund players were defenders for a second.

Malaga's owner blames their Champions League exit on 'clear racism', an assertion backed up by their manager.

Well their manager would say that. His team just conceded two goals in injury time to lose their place in a CL semi final. Best not blame them.

The fact Malaga's goal was just as clearly offside as the BD goal suggests that it was just pure incompetence from the linos last night. That is difficult to take, but it doesn't mean that the decisions were made out of racism.

I do think that there is an inherent bias against "new money" clubs. But I don't think it's an anti-Jew or anti-Arab thing.

without messi, barca have been very, very, VERY poor. clueless in attack. iniesta has been the only one putting his head down and having a go.

its unbelievable to think that they also only have two first team centre halves.

Even if they have been poor, they still go through if everything stays the same. I think if PSG got a goal Barca would be transformed anyway, even without Messi. But being in the driving seat means they don't need to push things.

I do hope they go a goal down though. Because I hope they go out.
