Saha on his own doesn't work period, IMO. He needs someone with him.
There are very few strikers who can play the lone role these days, it's not something that generally works with anyone but Saha has scored goals from it so I suppose it has been successful. If Moyes is going to start one striker upfron on his own it has to be Saha, Vellios would be completely bullied and dominated by any decent centre back.

I'm not so sure but I'll cave on that based on your superior knowledge. He looks an ideal right wing back to me.
Defensively he's awful, he really is. He can't defend and is in noway good enough to replace Tony Hibbert anyway. He's much more valuable to us by going forward, he's found his position on the right of midfield.

His half against United was calm and composed and he never wasted a pass. He troubled them and with a bit of luck both Saha and Vellios would have scored off his work. All class that boy, physically up to it and I can't see where he's going to get the experience without being given game time. Same as Rodwell, who gets better the more he plays.
But he's only 17, he doesn't need to be rushed into the first team just because he has a lot of potential. We'd ruin him by playing him every week in this league. I can't agree with United game, it was pointless throwing him in, he gave the ball away everytime he touched it and he's still very naive. Not ready yet for the Prem.
