Hibbert a top defender? I wouldn't pick him for our Reserves never mind the 1st Team. His sole strength is he can be pretty accurate with a slide tackle, but his positioning is diabolical with it far too easy for strikers to waltz in past/behind him and when on the ball he is quite frankly useless. Him and Neville are both the same when on the ball - they simply panic and boot the ball upfield or play a suicidal pass. Contrast this to Coleman and Barkley in particular, they look very relaxed on the ball and actually look up before making the pass.
It's just a position where we could have easily strengthened over the years and haven't even bothered trying. Instead of buying a LM like Bilyaletdinov when we already had Pienaar, why not buy a competent right back, or at least give Heitinga a run of games there. Coleman isn't at the level yet to be a great RB but he's offers so much more than Hibbert. I'd love him to score before he leaves, but it's at the point now where the 'Oh he's a local lad' reason for him playing needs to stop.
Also - can't believe the United teams named are putting Evra ahead of Dennis Irwin. Evra makes far too many errors and Irwin offered so much in terms of Penalties, Corners, Free Kicks.
