Not really, if it's read properly the FA are saying they don't want either of them speaking out while they investigate the incident, probably so that things are 'mis-quoted', as we so often hear footballers say they are, or so they investigations isn't compromised through the press. They'll want him to speak at the investigation hearing obviously but there's no need to speak to the press, once the investigation is complete we'll know either way anyway.

When people are accused of bad behaviour they are often judged by the public by their immediate reaction to the accusation. The strength of their denial, how indignant they are. It may not be right but that's how it is. By depriving Suarez of the right to immediately defend his reputation the FA are increasing the likelihood that mud will stick, particularly if the investigation is inconclusive (eg "not sufficient evidense").

There will be some who will think "Well he didnt seem particularly bothered about being accused of racism, there must be something in it"

These are what you would class as tough games

Man City have played

Spurs (a)
United(a)

The fixture list will even out table soon enough. City have played Wigan, Villa, Wolves, QPR, Everton (h) Swansea. A long way to go yet.

Stoke and Everton can hardly be classed up there or else we are going to have to start taking Bolton, QPR and Swansea into the equation too.

You've also included Spurs twice and an Arsenal team that was bereft of any decent players.

In reality United's tough games have been Spurs, Chelsea and City at home and Liverpool away (7 points out of 12) and City's have been Spurs and United away ( 6 points out of 6 and 11 goals).

If we take one point from the forthcoming games at Liverpool and Chelsea then our records will be the same. However, all of our games against the big opposition will have been away with nearly all United's at home.

Whilst we have battered two of the other big five away, can we really see United doing the same? When was the last time United beat anyone decent away?

Pretty much bang on. city are in it for the long haul now regardless of who they have played/got to play. When was the last time we beat anyone decent away? Good question! With tinkermans predictable 4-5-1 in any big away game the best we can hope for is a draw, or maybe a fluke 1-0 win. This has been the case for the last 3-4 years, but due to the poor standard of opposition we have been able to get away with it, especially last season.

Of course, the negative to a half decent win and display is that our media will slowly build up our hopes, and then produce their usual OTT reaction when we go out in the quarter finals to Holland or Germany.

An interesting note from last night is the reaction of the Spaniards to a little bit of tackling....

Seems that, similar to Arsene Wenger when anybody dares to get physical with his teams, the Spaniards take offence to teams who want to stop them playing their 'dream' football.

The good thing is for the other teams in the tournament, is that stopping this Spain side looks as simple as stopping Wenger's powder-puff sides over the years....Let's just hope the referees show some steel and don't fall for the Spanish play-acting which is bound to come to the fore when teams get physical.

They still managed to see off the dirty Dutch in the WC Final.

Watching yesterday was rather like watching an England/GB win over the Aussies at RL. Very enjoyable but still left feeling that it was more due to them having an off day.
