We can't afford to spend money on established talent, I think they'd take a 23+ year old if the price was right, but they'd sooner throw their money at a high ceiling than somebody that's already reached theirs.

It's clearly newspaper garbage, but I'd wager it's being fed to them by the club. They are just feeding snippets of faux-insider gossip to selected journalists who then believe they are in the inner circle. That way the clubs on the receiving end of their offers don't just laugh and triple the price. They are trying to persuade Swansea that they are lucky to get £12m due to signing over 23s not being company policy. If they came out and expressed their interest and said they were backing Rodgers with another £40 this summer, Swansea would just ask for £20m.

It's not the acts per se, it's the reactions from the player and the club. Did you see any Fellaini t-shirt protests the week after he was banned? Did you see Moyes blindly defend his actions? No, Moyes condemned his behaviour, told him off and the player, manager and club accepted his ban with the class you expect of Everton FC.

Had Liverpool reacted in such a manner when Suarez did what he did, there would have been none of the year-long controversy there was. Same with Uruguay in this instance, he's not being victimised, he's just an idiot and needs to concentrate on football and cut out the nonsense.

Everton copped for the straight three match ban, and can claim their sainthoods because of it, but Suarez wouldn't have been looking at three matches if he did what Fellaini did. There would be immediate calls for him to be copping a Barton-ban and sitting out a quarter of a season.

I don't think Liverpool could have just admitted instant guilt and expected a quick resolution. He simply wouldn't have been allowed to cop a normal size ban.

I don't get where Uruguay are coming from with their nonsense though. Suarez threw a punch. He should be copping a ban (probably a 2 match, in line with the shortened ban Rooney got) but Uruguay are coming out with nonsense that Suarez was provoked. I read in one article that they are claiming the guy grabbed his genitals. Even if that did happen previously in the game, Suarez isn't getting off for the punch. That was just a little smack before the cross came in to put off his marker IMO.

But because of all the nonsense surrounding Suarez we're probably going to have to put up with Uruguay and LFC appeals to the United Nations.

The t-shirts were daft but pretty much everything else is open to interpretation and where you stand on things.

I can't even be bothered going back into the whole Suarez debate, there was so much opinion, very little fact and very little interpretation and opinion won't budge on it so why bother. As far as you see it, Suarez was monkey chanting all game, Liverpool came out and said well done and all the fans came out and said well done Luis the monkey chants were great. It was never anything like that, the club stood by their player as he claimed innocence and gave a valid enough reason for the club to stand by him. Rodgers condemned him for admitting he dove, Dalglish condemned him over the handshake, but whatever else he's apparently done isn't worth the time or day.

Also, if it's not the acts, why write the biggest cry baby post I've ever read talking about the acts? Why not just talk about the reaction? Also, just because Everton react with shame, does that make the acts OK? Why is it OK for Phil Neville to dive, but not Suarez? For Neville to save a goal in a derby, but not Suarez in a world cup QF? Fellaini headbutts a player, it's OK because Moyes says it's bad. Suarez barely punches a player, his FA protest a potential ban and suddenly Suarez is scum again? I've seen our mate Fellaini commit handballs and receive no flack, I've seen him elbow players in play and receive no flack and he's as dirty a tackler as there is. If Suarez leaves his studs in he's scum, when Fellaini does it he's playing for a move to Barcelona.

I can understand why people don't like him over the Evra incident, my opinion will never change that but the rest of the sh*t is just embarrassing. I'd say you were a WUM but your posts have been consistent for over two years now, you clearly have a special 'rage' that you save only for Suarez, something you conveniently keep bottled up when your own players do similar/worse acts to the ones you rage about.

You're extra sensitive when it comes to criticism of him. I'm one of the main people who link to his incidents. When the punch happened I linked to it and I had a dig over him being a really nice guy off the pitch. You had a cry about that. You're having a cry now when nobodies really attacking him much, apart from him being a serial head case who can never stop acting like a fool.

I think you have hero worship issues.

Apart from the hilarious "5 times" gesture which had Kopites reaching for the Kleenex, and a total tap-in at Old Trafford, how's that Sturridge fella working out?
