I think you have hero worship issues.

I don't mind criticism, I don't even mind people not liking him, what I don't like are dumb comments that completely overreact on something that really isn't that bad. He's done some dumb things in his career, but I don't think he's mentally ill or challenged, and I wouldn't use an incident that occurred when he was fifteen years old as a great advert for him being a 'nutter'. I dunno, I seen things on sporting fields at 15 then makes me think that the incident with the referee was just a kid losing it, rather than a clear sign of mental health issues.

It was hardly a full on Shoryuken, was it? Of course it wasn't a nudge, that was an attempt at humour you probably missed but I wouldn't call it much of a punch, either.

I feel for proper Milwall fans that follow them home and away without incident for a couple of years, and then get shown up by a few day trippers in their big games (West Ham, Cup Semi etc).

I'm not sure what can be done about them really, maybe only people on a club database being allowed access to tickets?

What makes you think they were all "day trippers"?

The Millwall fans involved in the violense at West Ham in 2009 weren't day trippers. Just because they've kept a relatively low profile since doesnt necessarily mean they've all gone away.

There probably were some day trippers among them, plus a few ex hooligans temporarily out of retirement. But how do you know that some of them aren't regular supporters?

Obviously I don't, but if they were regulars at The Den then I'd be surprised.

My point about feeling for the proper fans still stands though, obviously they have more than their fair share of idiots, but the blokes who turn up regularly at The Den and just want to watch football are the ones I feel for.

Millwall will probably average under 10,000 a game. They took maybe 30 odd thousand to Wembley, so obviously there were a significant amount of day trippers and probably a lot of old hoolies coming out for special day.

The violence. At a guess it was probably old school hoolies wanting to let off steam because they were losing, being challenged by the regular support or day trippers and accused of dragging the club's name through the dirt, and the hoolies smacking them because it's their club.

I'm just glad that Wigan got to the final because if we win today a Chelsea-Millwall final didn't bear thinking about. Just like the biggest reason Citeh fans wanted us to beat Manchester United was because they didn't want a war zone today.

The FA Cup does bring out a lot of old hoolies to renew rivalries. I think the cops would say that their worst days are when old rivals who haven't met in a while get drawn together in the FA Cup. I know that around 1999 when Leeds played Wolves the cops mounted a huge operation before the match because they were worried about violence and there was still some big trouble after the game.

I think that the amount of CCTV cameras at grounds has driven regular hooliganism from the grounds. But the 2 times a season hoolies aren't really put off by being banned because they don't go often enough anyway.

It's been unfair on everyone but McManaman. McManaman should have been sitting out the third match of his three match ban.

The scouse victim syndrome is spreading. Everyone with scouse links should be sent back to Liverpool and there should be a wall built to keep them from infecting the rest of the world.
