That was a true game of two halves. The first half we were rampant, we ran them off the park and created enough chances to win it there and then. Yes, Richardson should have been off, but a decision in the 5th minute shouldn't have stopped us from winning.
The second half, well, I'm bemused. Our midfield suddenly became invisible, our first touch was appalling and our plan was to lump it up to Carroll, give him little support and look lost. If we play like the first half all season, we'll make the top 4. If our plan B is what we done in the second half, we won't improve at all. If I were Dalglish, I'd consider bringing Carroll off when we're chasing games, as he becomes such a point of focus for hoof merchants that we lose all direction and threat. We become predictable and hopeless.
We've much to improve on and much to be happy about. We needed the win to get momentum going today, but we just fell short.
