As for United, at long last they get the result that the majority of their performances this season have warranted....I've said a few times that this is the worst United side for a long, long time and this display just emphasised that.

I thought Dalglish was well past it tactically? Or will it be all praise to Steve Clarke now?

Leaving Dalglish's tactical skills to one side, I think his best piece of management was to rid the club of Torres....Suddenly, players like Kuyt and Lucas look half decent and with this, the weight of the world has been lifted off Gerrard.

Without dragging up the Hodgson thing again, it'd have been interesting to see how he might have fared with a Torres-free Liverpool....It seems obvious that with the Spaniard sulking around, it left an impression on other players in the club.

It may sound bitter of me, and I may have 'changed my tune', but Torres was only great when everything revolved around him. He's a special player, no doubt, but he isn't versatile enough IMO. We've had to sign two players to replace one, that's how good he is/was, but I do believe not having him opens up more 'options' for our squad, as we pretty much always had to go with Gerrard behind Torres every week.

Precisely.....Torres being the 'main man' must have had a huge impact on the confidence of those 'lesser' players around him and I suppose we'll never know, but some people's egos are almost certain to have been hurt.....Certainly a Torres-free Liverpool looks a hell of a lot more like a 'team' than with the Spaniard strutting his sulking figure up front.

It's looking like Rovers are this years team that drops into the relegation zone too late to get out of,the away form is terrible and Kean is showing everybody why he's always been a coach and never a manager.
