I might be wrong. I thought that Keyes and Gray would've got away with their misdemeanour's but they ended up getting turfed out for it. But I do suspect that Sky were wanting rid of them anyway and they probably released the tapes to do it.

I think that Blatter is pretty much teflon coated though. And while this reveals him to be a stupid buffoon, the powers of FIFA will have known all along that he was that buffoon and kept him in place anyway.

I just don't see this hurting him. I think the rest of the world will just look on it as another over-reaction from our media, like the corruption scandal over the WC bids were.

You could always make a complaint to Merseyside police about Suarez's alleged action. That would ensure consistency of treatment with Terry.

Suarez has admitted saying that horrible, racist word. His own confession is enough to hang him with.

And for someone with such a long history of controversy (Biting and cheating are two that spring to mind) behind him, I don't think Suarez's word is worth anything, certainly not compared to a pillar of the football community in this country like Patrice Evra is.

As pointed out already the only difference in the two racism cases is that someone reported the Terry incident to the Police, not some club based conspiracy.

Why does football, more than any other sport breed blind faith and loyalty in fans, no matter what situation is presented to them. It's kind of like "I'm a bigger fan, as I stick by my team". It would be refreshing for a fan to be honest and give a fair evaluation. Unfortunately, there seems to be a distinct lack of class from fans of certain clubs on here.

The only things Suarez has 'admitted' are these:

"There is no evidence I said anything racist to him. I said nothing of the sort.

"There were two parts of the discussion, one in Spanish, one in English. I did not insult him. It was just a way of expressing myself. I called him something his team-mates at Manchester call him, and even they were surprised by his reaction."

Other than that, nobody knows exactly what was said. After the game, Sky checked their footage and there was nothing found on him, so, if the FA are to find him guilty after these personal hearings or whatever, there will have to be substantial evidence to ban him if he continues to plead innocent. It's alleged he called him 'negrito', but the word seems to be viewed as something completely friendly and harmless in his home nation, so whether you can say 'he is racist', is pretty hard. You could find him guilty of using racially offensive words, but I still think it will be very hard to prove him racist, unless it turns out he called Evra a full array of racist insults.

again - doesn't mean it didn't happen before - FAs seem pretty damned keen to make stuff go away on their own doorstep

what i am sure most people will agree is

: the FA would desperately prefer not to have this on their doorstep, they are very quick (quite rightly) to kick off when black english players are booed etc when playing abroad.

: various retired black players have come out and said it happens, but nothing gets done about it.

Terry has had allegations made against him before, which all seemed to be made to go away
