THE REAL ARTICLE, favourite for Thursday's Guinness Galway Hurdle, is free to run in the big race after the Turf Club cancelled an inquiry into the horse's controversial second at Tipperary on July 17.
The club's referrals committee decided on Monday that it could not go ahead with the case as a result of legal submissions presented from trainer Edward O'Grady's solicitor.
Under a hands and heels ride from Paddy Mangan at Tipperary, The Real Article was beaten a short head by Captain Cee Bee in the Grade 3 Grimes Hurdle.
His defeat meant he escaped a penalty for the Guinness Galway Hurdle, for which he was made 7-2 favourite.
Turf Club chief executive Denis Egan asked the referrals committee to review the Tipperary race and the decision of the acting stewards not to impose any sanction following The Real Article's run.
The Real Article was raised 18lb following the Tipperary race but will be racing off his old mark in Thursday's big race.
