Reads to me as if the Head trained horse or Rio De La Plata need to win the race for you to get your Frankel/Canford money back.
I can't split the pair of them - as good as Frankel is I've just got a terrible feeling the line won't come soon enough and Hughesie will still have Canford on the bridle in pursuit to snatch it on the line. But at the same time, if Queally gets things right it could be over in a flash.
Wednesdays picks:
Spirit Of Adjisa looks a worthy favourite in a fairly weak contest. Has proven stamina and has been kept fresh since winning at Punchestown over hurdles in May.
Chandlery can win the next for the Hannon-Hughes partnership. Was only a neck behind Red Duke at Newmarket last time, is 3lbs better off, and has Goodwood experience which is important in a race like this.
Frankel is my very tentative selection for the Sussex and has taken me all day to make the decision. Surely Sir Henry will have a strict plan for the race, and a back up too. The jockeys are the most important element of this race. If Frankel is in tip-top condition then surely Queally just needs to get his part of it spot on, as Canford has won this before and you struggle to find a better jockey around here than Hughesie, who will punish any mistakes that might be made.
Four Nations has course form, trainer loves a winner here and carries a feather weight. Surely will be in the shake up and looks an E/W steal. Halifax will be a tough nut to crack for the in-form Johnston yard in what looks a wide open handicap.
Sunday Times has some lofty entries over the next couple of months, PCH can ready one to win first time out, and looks like he means business by putting this one in at the deep end. Diamond Finesse looks a sure improver on her first effort so if Sunday Times isn't fully wound up then she could be the one to take it.
Lutine Bell should be thereabouts in what looks a race to avoid, any of 6 could probably win it.
Ken's Girl is the one I would chance here in what looks another minefield - likes to be prominent and could take some pegging back if managing a decent lead. Was beaten by Apache Glory last time out but gives away less weight this time and could turn the tables if he makes a good break from tricky 17.
