Woohoo! Walk off win that was lucky as hell. That man Bruce again. Two solo shots, the second to tie things up in the bottom of the ninth. Decent enough start two from three considering the expectations for the Marlins.

Phew! .500 through the month although really it should have been more. That said it could have been less but for a few heroics. Pitching has been pretty good this season, just the bats have only come alive sporadically. Seems like we're splitting every home series 2-1 and every road series 1-2. If we can get a couple of sweeps we should be good.

Seeing as nobody has mentioned it, isn't it great to see the Orioles challenging even at this early stage? Camden Yards is one of the grounds that I'm going to go to when I win the lottery. It's one of those stadiums that's always looked great and is up there on my visit list with the likes of Wrigley Field and the two new New York stadiums. Double header today with Texas that I'm going to tune into I think.

It certainly is!!! I can't believe it's taken so long for the penny to drop that pitching wins ballgames. Over the last few years they've been no higher that 27th in the majors for team ERA and, surprise surprise, have been whipping boys. A new GM, new head coach and an improved pitching staff and the wins are clocking up. I don't think they're strong enough to be in contention at the end of the season but at this point I'll settle for a season above 500. It'll be interesting to see what they do in terms of trades if they still have a chance bit further down the road.

It's a great ballpark, been there a couple of times. Never been to Wrigley or any of the NY parks but went on a tour of Fenway, unfortunatly the Red Sox were on a road trip so didn't get to see a game there. Standing at the bottom of the green monster was pretty cool though.
